VI.14.43 Pompeii. December 2007. Room 16, west wall of exedra.
According to Bragantini, the west wall would have had a black dado.
The middle zone of the wall had a painting in the central aedicula panel, which was on a white background.
The side panels were red. The upper zone of the wall was white.
See Bragantini, de Vos, Badoni, 1983. Pitture e Pavimenti di Pompei, Parte 2. Rome: ICCD. (p.303, ambiente ‘19’)
According to Bragantini, the brief tiled roof had not been sufficient to protect the painting (a mythological landscape with countryside, showing perhaps, according to Warscher “The fall of Icarus”) which was in the centre of the west wall.
See Carratelli, G. P., 1990-2003. Pompei: Pitture e Mosaici: Vol. V. Roma: Istituto della enciclopedia italiana, (p. 464).

VI.14.43 Pompeii. December 2007. Doorway to room 16, exedra on north side of peristyle. Looking towards east wall.
According to PPM, the painting of Pindar and Corinna was found on the east wall.
Above a black zoccolo, the middle zone of the wall had a central aedicula with a red panel on either side.
At the centre was the wide gap left by the detachment of the central part of the painting, showing Pindar and Corinna (Helbig 1379, NAP inv. 9269).
See Carratelli, G. P., 1990-2003. Pompei: Pitture e Mosaici. Vol.5. Roma: Istituto della enciclopedia italiana, (p.463).
According to Schefold (1957) the painting was found on the north wall.
Schefold said in 1962, that the painting had been transferred to Naples Archaeological Museum, Pindar, Myrtis and Corinna.
See Schefold, K., 1962. Vergessenes Pompeji. Bern: Francke. (Pl. 57, 2)
According to Richardson, the wall painting of Pindar and Corinna, found on the north wall, had the inventory number NAP 9269.
He also gave the Helbig reference as Helbig 1379.
See Richardson, L., 2000. A Catalog of Identifiable Figure Painters of Ancient Pompeii, Herculaneum. Baltimore: John Hopkins. (p.67).
However, NAP 9269 is a painting of Bacchus and Silenus, from VII.7.32, and according to Elia the painting of Pindar, Myrtis and Corinna was inventory number: s.n (senza numero).
See Elia, O. (1932): Pitture murali e mosaici nel Museo Nazionale di Napoli. Rome: La Libreria dello Stato. (p.14, no.5: Gara di citaredo).
According to Helbig the exedra, left from peristyle, contained a painting of: Gods (deification of) of Homer. This had the same number as the above.
See Helbig, W., 1868, Wandgemälde der vom Vesuv verschütteten Städte Campaniens. Leipzig: Breitkopf und Härtel. (1379).
