VI.14.43 Pompeii. December 2007. Room 2, north-west corner of bedroom or cubiculum on north side of entrance.
According to Bragantini, the floor of this room would have been of cocciopesto with crosses of white tesserae around a centre made of black tesserae.
On the north wall, the lower dado would have been painted black, the III style middle zone was painted red, with panels divided by painted candelabra.
A cornice of stucco was on the upper wall.
On the west wall with the bed recess, the dado was painted red, as were the two side panels which were separated from the central panel by painted candelabra.
The central panel of the west wall showed a painting of Ariadne abandoned by Theseus, now faded and vanished, see Helbig 1219 for description.

According to Bragantini, the floor of this room would have been of cocciopesto with crosses of white tesserae around a centre made of black tesserae.

On the north wall, the lower dado would have been painted black, the III style middle zone was painted red, with panels divided by painted candelabra.

According to Bragantini, the north wall of the atrium was painted with a black dado.
The middle zone of the wall was painted red, each panel edge bordered with a pattern of small semicircles.
The frieze was black with painted climbing plant shoots.

The north wall would have had a black dado, and the middle zone of the walls was red.
