Looking towards the north wall plastered with a high white zoccolo (dado) and the kitchen bench with arches below.

On the west side of the kitchen, under the stairs, were two small rooms, a latrine and a wash-room, in front of which was a channel for a drain.

VIII.2.26 Pompeii. September 2005. Room 3, vaulted north wall of exedra. Only a small part of the stucco cornice remains, on the right.  The other walls of this room were painted with a black zoccolo with a taut garland. A raven was seen on this garland on the east wall. On the west wall, a bird could be seen on the garland.  The central panel of the middle zone was also black, and the side panels were red and crossed by a candelabra design. The plaster on the east wall fell totally in 1978. The floor of this room was of cocciopesto mixed with lava and showed a beautiful well-executed design. The centre of which was an enormous eight pointed star or rosette, formed by diamond shapes. In the north-east corner of room 3 was a doorway to room 4, a cubiculum leading from the exedra. The flooring of the small room 4 was made from lava with flakes of limestone. On the south wall the zoccolo could still be seen, it was painted black, and subdivided in panels and compartments. Only on the north side of the doorway on the west wall were any remains of the decoration of the middle zone, it was red and on the upper zone, it was painted white with architectural motifs.

According to Allison, this cubiculum had a wide opening from the corridor on its south side.
The walls were decorated in the 4th Style with a black dado (zoccolo) with panels and flowers. In the central zone were red and black fields with central aediculae and architectural openings. The floor was of white mosaic with black borders.

According to Allison, this triclinium was at the east end of the corridor.

It had a large window in its south wall.
The walls were decorated in an elaborate Third Style on a black background.

They were decorated with geometric motifs in the dado (zoccolo), and the central and upper zones of the walls had fantastic architecture, candelabras and floating figures.

The ceiling was also black with triangles, lozenges, flowers and medallions, in red, white and yellow.

The floor was of cocciopesto with an emblema in opus sectile consisting of squares, triangles, rectangles and circles of coloured marble, with a border of black and white mosaic.

Around the edge of the room is a mosaic border of two white bands between three black. The centre panel has marble pieces inset in a white mosaic.
