(Originally when excavated, this was numbered as Reg. II, Insula 8, no 4).
II.5.4 Pompeii. September 2005. Possible blocked entrance?
According to CTP during the excavations in the 1950s the doorways on the north side (of the insula) indicated four entrances.
All later plans, Eschebach, Jashemski, etc., show four entrances on the north side and the fifth on the south side.
During 1972 Mrs Jashemski cleared the north-west side of the insula and found only three entrances.
