I.7.19 Pompeii. December 2006. Niche in west wall of north portico. According to Boyce, this arched niche had a simple aedicula façade painted in red on the wall around it. Beside the niche was the faded figure of a boar done in red monochrome and on the wall below it were traces of a still older decoration. Boyce says in note 4 on page 26, that the figure of the boar and the older decoratoion had no connection with the lararium. Not. Scavi, 1929, 370. See Boyce G. K., 1937. According to Boyce, this arched niche had a simple aedicula façade painted in red on the wall around it.
